The last year, on Thursday 26 November, CERN Openlab hosted an event on innovation and entrepreneurship, organized in collaboration with the CERN Knowledge Transfer Group and IdeaSquare, and supported by CERN Openlab in partnership with Intel.
The event was attended by over 80 participants who had the opportunity to discuss their own business ideas in one-to-one meeting with a panel of experts from a variety of organizations, who also spoke on different topics, strongly related to both innovation and entrepreneurship: commercialization, start-up funding, marketing and social impact.
Among the panel of experts, there was our CEO Enrico Giuliani, who made a presentation entitled Doctor Entrepreneur: how the earthquake and Neuron Guard changed my life.
He emphasised the importance of building a good team: “You need to collaborate with others who have a range of competencies” says Giuliani. “It’s changed me deeply: it’s given me wealth of experience and knowledge beyond my wildest imagination.” He continued: “Working on a start-up company is a journey: you know where you want to be, but you don’t necessarily know how you’re going to get there.”
